Boutique Owners
Hello there! Thank you for your interest in hosting Clayful Memories at your store! Below, I’ll be answering some frequently asked questions. If you have any that aren’t covered on this page, please reach out to me by emailing clayfulmemories@gmail.com. Thank you!
How do these events work?
When you schedule an event with me, I work on creating a scheduling link that is specific to that event/date. You’ll promote it to your customers and send them directly to that link for them to book their appointment. I generally space appointments 10-15 minutes apart. Once someone schedules their appointment, they will be added to my calendar. They’ll receive reminder texts and emails before the event. A $25 deposit is required to book. This goes toward their final total, but is non-refundable if they cancel their appointment less than 24 hours in advance or fail to show.
How much space is required?
I bring with my a table, chair, clay boxes, and a large tote on a rolling cart for holding the pieces. Everything else I usually put under the table. Basically, I need enough space to move around both sides of my table and enough space in the back to move behind the table, and enough space in front of the table for families with strollers. 10 ft wide and 10ft deep is the most ideal. Please also be aware that I cannot be upstairs and will also need easy access to my vehicle as I go back and forth with heavy stuff several times during the event. I wheel these things on a cart back and forth.
Is there anything else that I need to do?
I just need you to promote the event and scheduling link to your customers, provide the space for me to set up, and then have space to hold the finished orders when I deliver them back to the store. You will likely get lots of questions from customers. If you don’t know the answer, please send them to me. Please do not assume an answer that you aren’t 100% sure about. Also expect to get several calls after the event of people asking when their pieces will be delivered. Although I try to put the info everywhere, people still forget or ask how it’s coming along. It’s about a 12 week turnaround right now but people get excited. For Christmas, I usually have them there the first week of December. For Mother’s Day, I usually have them delivered the first week of May. However, ceramics is a delicate process and can sometimes be unpredictable, so turn around time is just a general time frame. I can’t give an exact delivery date until I have the orders finished and packed up.
